NWS Outage to Affect Selected Products

This bulletin contains updated information for customers requesting Level II NEXRAD Data via the Unidata LDM application from Weather Decision Technologies.

The NWS has begun sending Level-II data for the four WSR-88Ds in Hawaii (PHKM, PHMO, PHWA and PHKI).

The National Weather Service has announced changes to the current set of NIDS (Level III) products which are transmitted over the National Weather Service Gateway. These products are slated to replace lower resolution data in the coming future.

Scheduled maintenance will occur on February 23rd 2010 at 3:00am Central Time at our Oklahoma City Data Center. This maintenance window may result in brief loss of product availability while maintenance is carried out, but will not exceed 30 minutes.

As of July of 2008, Weather Decision Technologies has centralized the collection and transmission of all LDM based products to a pair of fully redundant servers. Clients have been proactively notified to make changes to their configuration entries which request their data from these new system.
